Design Engineer

We are currently working with one of the Worlds largest Electrical Power Distribution businesses in the World who are looking for a Design Engineer to join, where you'll contribute to the enhancement and innovation of their product portfolio. They work in several emerging markets, including Electric Vehicle charging, which is already showing dividends in business profits and accelerating their growth, both internally and externally!

This role would suit individuals who have experience working in single or 3 phase power distribution, whilst possessing a positive, proactive attitude, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.

Initially the role will be based in South Manchester for the first few months, before moving to the Wigan area as the company is relocating the department to another, larger site. They work hybrid working patterns and are flexible in their hours around the 36.5 hour weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and modify 2D and 3D component drawings and assemblies using advanced modelling software.
• Collaborate closely with both UK and international suppliers to ensure seamless integration of components.
• Work to British and IED standards for Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear and Circuit Protection products
• Adhere to PLM guidelines, supporting new product development from concept to sales release.
• Maintain SAP master data records in alignment with project requirements.

In return you'll receive a salary of circa up to £40k and a fantastic package including a bonus of up to 20%, 26 days holiday which increases with tenure, and the option to buy extra holidays, and an Employer contribution of up to 10% pension.
