Employment Solutions are looking for a dedicated Municipal Vehicle Engineer with a strong background in heavy goods vehicles (HGV) and municipal vehicles. The role involves fabrication and welding (coded welding not essential), as well as expertise in repairing refuse vehicles, particularly in hydraulics and electrical systems. The successful candidate will be able to diagnose and repair breakdowns efficiently and ensure the smooth operation of essential municipal equipment. This is a permanent position, offering 42.5 working hours per week, with a pay rate of £20 per hour.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a hands-on approach, a background in welding and fabrication, and a strong mechanical understanding. Those with a background in municipal or heavy goods vehicles and a willingness to travel will thrive in this position. Individuals who enjoy problem-solving and working in a fast-paced, practical environment would excel in this role.
- Welding on LGVs and bin-lift equipment.
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns in municipal refuse vehicles, focusing on hydraulics and electrics.
- Use specialised equipment to fabricate, cut, and weld parts.
- Ensure all repairs and modifications are properly documented.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to relevant safety regulations.
The Company have a competitive rate of £20 per hour, with a permanet and full time basis. The role would be Monday to Friday and working 42.5 hours per week. There are lots of opportunities for development and working in a team environment with hands on training. The role is involved in some essential municipal services, contributing to community well being.
