We are seeking vigilant and safety-conscious Fire Watchers to join a project team based in Manchester.

This vital role involves ensuring workplace safety during hot works, such as welding or burning, by monitoring for fire hazards and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Successful candidates will work in shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the potential for weekend work.

This position is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.

Experience on construction sites, possession of a valid CSCS card, and a proactive approach to preventing and managing risks make for a great match.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor work areas for fire hazards during hot works such as welding and burning.
  • Ensure adherence to conditions stated in hot work permits and maintain a safe environment.
  • Act swiftly in emergencies by extinguishing small fires or activating fire alarms.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections to identify potential risks and ensure firefighting equipment is readily available.
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with team members and supervisors.
